The Giver
The Giver is a intersting book that has emotion and meaning to it. In the beginning Jonas is a boy who is just about to turn twelve, the year when the Council picks out your chosen Occupation. He is anxious to learn what they have chosen since he has no clue what his passion is. His best friend Asher pretty much already knows what he is going to be and so does everyone else in his class. Jonas is surprised to find out he is to become the giver the person in the community who is the most respected and looked up to. He begins working with the reciever every day and soon learns the world used to be a very different place. He learns colors, music, and how mankind used to live. With every memory Jonas becomes more and more confused about how his community lives now. Jonas is soo put to the test when a baby that his family has taken in, is to be released which Jonas finds out means to be killed. Jonas is overwhelmed with emotion and he takes drastic measures and kidnaps the baby Gabriel and runs away from all he has ever known. This book is a thrilling novel that leaves you questioning your ownself.
